Introduction

At the current stage in my Games Design & Art degree, as a soon-to-be-graduate, I face multiple challenges in regards to my future employment:

I hope that the Professional Contexts module will help me in tackling these issues and reflecting on my experience in the course so far, and I aim to document my journey in this blog.

Portfolio

Thanks to the guest lectures, I am now very clear on what parts of my work I should include in my portfolio. Multiple speakers, including Blacknell, Gregory, and Beardshaw, have underlined the importance of showcasing your process, instead of the finished results. Having a professional website, be it ArtStation, WordPress or anything else, is crucial.

Another important detail is that, upon graduating, one must continue working on building their portfolio - participating in game jams and undertaking sprint courses is a good way to do so.
